Muzi Gasa was born on 30 March 1973 in a little town in KwaZulu-Natal, called Kranskop. He was brought up and schooled in his home town and completed his matric in 1991 in Kranskop High School. He enrolled at the University of Natal in 1992 and completed his studies in 1995, graduating in B Soc Sc (Honours) in Human Resources Management. He started his career in the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health as a Work Study officer in 1996. He has worked for almost nine years in the Public Service and has also worked in the private sector mainly in Consulting and some of the positions he occupied included the following:
- 1996-1998: KZN Health; work study officer
- 1998-1999: KZN Premier; senior administrative officer
- 1999-2000: Free State Welfare Department, Assistant Director
- 2000-2002: Harambe Institute for Transformation; Senior Consultant
- 2002-2008: KZN Health, EMRS District Manager in uMgungundlovu district
- 2008-2010: Health Quality Solutions; Senior Consultant
Between 2002 and 2008 when he worked as a manager in EMRS in uMgungundlovu he led his district with distinction and zeal. He therefore brings his high work ethos to the company and his talents to be tapped into for the good of the community at large.
From 2010 he joined the Insurance Industry and spent two years in that sector until he embarked on this new journey with Life Changing Outreach.
He is married to Thanda Gasa and are blessed with two boys, Kwanda and Siyanda.
Bongani Shandu was born on 11 March 1963 in Caluza in Pietermaritzburg. He was raised and schooled in Pietermaritzburg. He completed his matric in 1985 in Sobantu High School. He started his working life as an operator in a company called PDC in Pietermaritzburg, which is a steel company. He left the company in 1995 and joined Metropolitan Life where he held various positions including the following:
- 1995-2003: Financial Advisor
- 2003-2007: Sales manager
- 2007 -2011: Branch Manager
In all his positions he demonstrated diligence and enthusiasm and distinguished himself from his peers. It was for this reason that when he was the branch manager, his branch consistently exceeded sales targets. He was able to inspire and motivate his team of financial advisors to perform at their utmost best and were able to achieve high sales volume year after year.
He also played a major role in the Church in Pietermaritzburg as an elder and the leader of the church choir. His passion for working with families started as early as 2003 when he started convening couples’ seminars and was instrumental in encouraging couples to learn to live with each other peacefully.
He left Metropolitan Life in 2011 and started his own business. His conviction could not let up, soon afterwards, he started the organization known as Life Changing Outreach which seeks to teach married people that marriage is God’s idea and should be treated as a sacred institution. It is his vision that inspired the Life Changing Outreach. He has spoken to many married people in various functions including weddings and church meetings. His passion for how to make marriage works has resonated with many people especially during this era when the institution of marriage is under pressure from forces that are opposed to it. His message of encouraging men to take their rightful place in families and society has been well received wherever he delivered it.
He is married to Beauty Shandu and are blessed with two children, Lindelwa and Nkosinathi.
